Yesterday was the dreaded Violin Exam Day. I think I dread it so much until I visualized all sorts of stuff that can go wrong and I especially like to do it when I was lying on my bed trying to sleep. Go figure. Fitful sleep followed by lost of appetite for the past few days but everytime I tell Moo that, she will say I snore like the pig I was. But but but.... I woke feeling like I have taken the exam 999 times throughout the nite. Anyway after exam straight away felt like haven't eat for 100 days and pig out at MoF. Rake up a bill of SGD40.00. Dunno what I eat also.
Reality was much better thank God. Examiner was an old British gentlemen. I can seriously felt his sincerity to pass me throughout the exam. He even helped checked my violin to see if it's in tune or not. And I was so worried, cause violins strings have a nasty habit of running when room temperature changes. It's the science of matter expanding and contracting in different temperatures but Iuckily it held true after I tuned it outside the exam room - for at least as long as it takes to play the pieces and scales. Got a note wrong on that but Examiner said it's ok. I also think i got lucky with my sight reading although I think I did quite badly in it, but I believe I scrape enough brownie points to pass. So the verdict is, I think I will get a pass even if it's not with flying colours.
What an experience for some one my age to take a music exam. Not something I want to repeat but had nasty suspicion that I might need to take Grade 5 despite my vehement denial. My teacher has her ways to make me do things :(
Today is Moon Cake festival. So happy moon cake festival to all friends, spammers and enemies. Moon cake festival also reminds me of my Bodek Didi and his story which I will not expound as I have already mentioned that in previous blog. Go read it and have a good laugh :)
